Thanks to everyone for Red Hat DaysBy: james vaughn
October 18, 2010
When we began to revived Red Hat Days after a decade of absence, the approach was a crawl, walk and run process. With a little over two months to put the event together, we understood that it would not be on the previous scale. Personally, I was pleasantly surprised with the support from the community and the final product.
I want to publically thank everyone that was a part of the Red Hat Days Committee for their time and efforts that allowed our community to bring this important piece of our history. In addition, I want to thank Project Graduation for their role in the Hunter's Breakfast. I heard nothing great food at a great price and people got a chance to visit with friends that they had not seen in years. Great Job to Kim and everyone involved. It goes without saying. Thank you to everyone that participated in the parade. Without diminishing how important is was to have the Orting High School band in our parade, I want to personally thank the Sumner High School Band for supporting their sister community. I understand that this past Saturday was Homecoming for Sumner High School and they took time away from a very busy schedule to support Orting's efforts to bring back Red Hat Days. Many, many thanks. Last but not least thanks to all eveyone in the community who turned out to celebrate Red Hat Days. We sincerly hope you had a wonderful time and will return next year for a bigger and better event. In closing, there are so many people that I would like to mention and express my gratitude. I know who you are and you know who you are. I hope you will continue to support Red Hat Days for years to come. Jim Vaughn President Orting Red Hat Days |
