And a great time was had by all…By: Nancy Clendaniel
October 01, 2010
For the 4th consecutive year, Communities In Schools of Orting lent their energy, time and talent to the 2010 Puyallup Fair. This year, in addition to providing a stage for local entertainment and a nice assortment of free children’s books, CISO offered up performances by the Orting High School Dance team, Ptarmigan Ridge Middle School’s Spelling Bee, and their very own Talent Show.
After an hour of syllable-stumping fun, the Ptarmigan Ridge Spelling Bee winners were: Brandon Barber (1st Place), Renee Douglas (2nd Place) and Kaylee Morgan (3rd Place). The Annual Talent Show left the crowd wanting more! This year’s judges – Corrine Requium (Orting Community Volunteer), Martha Myers (CISO Board VP) and Heather Hogan (CISO Mentoring Coordinator) – had a hard time choosing, as all the performers did such a great job. After much consideration, the following winners were selected: Emily Webber (1st Place), Katie Shirley (2nd Place) and Cassidy & Calee Collins (3rd & 4th Place).
