Eating my way through the market- and you can too!

Each week at the market I find myself eating something different. The first week I had to dive into the lumpia from Lumpia Love- oh what joy! Second week came and I swore I was going to be good. ate two (yes, two) baskets of raspberries from Sidhu Farms. Heavenly taste and forgiving on the waist! Third week- what's a girl to do when it's hot- I succumbed to the fresh squeezed lemonade from Straus Bavarian Nuts. That went down really well- and fast. Fourth week and I notice that I have a little more time to check out more items. I stop at the end of the day and pick out produce. A bunch of beautiful carrots from Sandfords Farm lay in my arms like a bouquet of roses- these get eaten fresh that night! Cherries from Ayala farms fill a bag as do some fresh small white potatoes which cooked up perfectly with a little olive oil and rosemary. On the fifth week at the market, I can no longer resist the call of fresh baked goodness and feel myself pulled to one of the Gageby Farms wagons- the one with the bakery items. They have wonderful, giant cookies and yes, I did buy and eat them. Racked with guilt, but sated, I go home less hungry than usual. What will I be hankering for this week? Not sure yet- perhaps it will be the fudge or the dips. Maybe it will be plums or peaches. Perhaps I'll be in the mood for a nice salad with chicken- all of the makings being right there at the market. I guess at this point I just let my stomach rule my head. Guilty pleasures are ok once a week, aren't they? For sure I will be stopping to learn about making juice with steam this week, and making and canning salsa- I've made it before, but haven't canned it. I will also watch the belly dancers at 6, as I wish that I could move the way they do- but don't know if I have the ambition to practice as much as they do. Maybe after eating my vegetables I'll have the engergy. Join me at the market, won't you?
