Saturday, December 5 -
Annual "Home for the Holidays" tree lighting. Here is the schedule: 3:30-Local farmer/wreath vendor will set up by the Bell Tower - keep your holiday decorating dollars local by supporting your local grower- purchase a wreath there! 4:00- Meet at Orting Station for cocoa, cider, cookies- and prepare for the second annual Carol Stroll to the Bell tower before the tree lighting. (FREE) Lyrics for this year's songs, some candles, and good camaraderie will be there waiting for you! Bring a small flashlight to help you read the lyrics as the sun sets. Sponsored by Shepherd of the Valley church. School choir members have been invited to join us on the stroll! (return "candles" to box at end of stroll, please, and do dress for the weather) 4:45- Arrive at Bell Tower and meet up with others. Santa will arrive for the countdown to the tree lighting! School choir members will lead the carols at the bell tower. If no burn ban is in effect, a fire will be burning to keep us warm at the pit in the park- courtesy Orting Valley Fire and Rescue. 5:00- Tree Lighting. Then let the children greet Santa. (We hope to also provide photo opportunity in the gazebo with Santa again this year). Be sure to bring friends down to enjoy a quaint, small town tradition. Help keep the wholesome, family friendly atmosphere of Orting by your participation! Bring on those J-I-N-G-L-E Bells! |
