Thank You Orting Voters for Investing in Our Future!

Dear staff and community members,

Our community reaffirmed its commitment to education when, as of February 9, 53.79 percent of Orting area voters approved the M&O Levy! Since the levy makes up 18 percent of our district's operating budget, this funding will help support nearly every aspect of our district, including teachers, classroom assistants, music and art, special education, nurses, athletic programs and so much more.

While at its very basic level a successful levy passage is about funding, the meaning and significance goes much deeper. It highlights our citizens' commitment to students and support for education. It means we believe in giving our students the best opportunity to succeed in life and pursue their dreams and goals. Your vote of confidence also lets the Orting School District staff know that they are doing a good job and their hard work is appreciated. And, most importantly, it means that we can provide our students with the quality education they deserve through your investment in our future.

Thank you so much for your support and vote. I want you to know that we will continue to actively engage and educate our community members, giving them more opportunities to play important roles in student success and our school system. Our schools belong to the public and we must reach out and make each and every person who walks through our doors feel welcome, all the while sharing and celebrating the great things our students are accomplishing in the Orting School District.

I also want to take a moment to recognize the many hours of hard work and dedication of the Citizens for Orting Schools Levy Committee. Thank you to the numerous other volunteers for their many hours of work to ensure this measure was successful.

Thank you, Orting residents for recognizing the value of education. Our M&O Levy was successful because of the continued support of residents. Whether you put a sign in your yard, informed others about the benefits of passing this measure, or voted yes - we couldn't have done it without you!
