Orting City Professor, Andrew Bailey, Recognized as One of Biola University’s Alumni of the YearBy: Quinn Clark

LA MIRADA, CALIF. — Andrew Bailey, Orting, Wash. local and assistant professor of humanities and philosophy at Yale-NUS College, will receive Biola University’s Young Alumni Award for his outstanding contributions to society on Feb. 27 at an awards ceremony.
Bailey is one of 11 alumni receiving an alumni award this year. Bailey graduated from the Torrey Honors Institute and received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Biola University in 2006. He went on to receive his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Notre Dame (UND) in philosophy and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at UND. He currently serves as an assistant professor of humanities and philosophy at Yale-NUS College, a partnership between Yale University and the National University of Singapore and the first of its kind in Asia. In this partnership, Bailey teaches a “great works†program similar to the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola. Bailey will be involved throughout 2015 as a special guest, speaker, and honoree at university and academic department events. The awards ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. in Chase Gymnasium at Biola University.
