Alexi Whatley & Madison Nasinec Farmers Insurance Athlete of the Week

The Washington State Spring Sports tournaments were held on May 28th - May 30th. Orting High School was well represented in Softball and Track. This week we present two students The Farmers Insurance Student Athlete of the Week Award. Congratulations Madison Nasinec and Alexi Whatley for an outstanding week!

Madison is a Junior who plays Catcher for the Lady Cardinals. Madison helped her team make back to back trips to the State Tournament. This year she helped her team place 7th in the State Tournament that was held in Selah, WA. The Lady Cardinals played 4 games in two days, 3 of which were on the same day. Madison caught all 4 games in the 95-97 degree weather. Madison showed great leadership in this great accomplishment. Congratulations on a great season!

Alexi is a Senior who made her 4th trip to the Washington State Track Championship Meet. Alexi has medaled in an event on every trip. This year Alexi ran the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4x200m events for Orting Track and Field and qualified for all 4 events in the State Tournament that was held at Mount Tahoma High School on May 28th – May 30th. On Saturday Alexi ran in the finals for the 400m race. Alexi ran a great race and finished off her highly decorated High School career taking 2nd place! Alexi will now head off to St. Martins University starting a new chapter in her Track career. Congratulations Alexi for a job well done!
